Julia Burns is a Georgia native and ceramic artist. Growing up in a creative household, art was just the way of life for her, and after dabbling in many mediums she connected with clay. Realizing her passion for clay she decided to study ceramics further at Georgia State University where she completed a BFA in Ceramics in 2015.

After college, Julia was awarded a studio assistant position at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. Where she focused on atmospheric firings, including soda and salt. Since 2016 she has been teaching hand-building and ceramic sculpture classes at Callanwolde. Specializing in animal sculpture she continues to teach classes as well as workshops including raku and saggar firing. Julia has also taught pottery at Abernathy Art Center and South Fulton Art Center.
